How long has your company been in business?
DNA Speedometers Inc. has been in business since March 26, 2001.  Our founder has been repairing speedometers since 1948 when speedometers were all cable driven. We are registered in the state of Florida for Motor Vehicle Repair MV43435. Click here to see our Registration Certificate.

How long does it take to repair the unit and ship it back?
Most of our work usually takes us same day or next day.  When the work involves repairs on digital or all electronic instruments, it may take up to 5 days. In any case, we will let us you know as we proceed with the repairs.  We like to keep our customers posted on our progress.

Why "DNA" in front of Speedometers? What does it stand for?
"DNA" is short for Digital 'N Analog.  The word speedometers is already too long so we decided add something short in front of it. We did our own abbreviating and came up with DNA. Since we do nothing but digital and analog instrument cluster repairs, it was perfect. Only problem we have is that we get calls for DNA paternity tests.  No! We cannot tell who the father is.

Can I drive my car without my instrument cluster in it?
We suggest you do not drive or move your car without the instrument cluster in it.  Air bag system may need to be reprogrammed, alternator may not charge the battery, and you may even get a speeding ticket not knowing how fast you are traveling.  If you decide to drive the car without the speedometer, you solely are responsible for your actions.

What is the guarantee that my unit will perform as well as before?
All of our work is guaranteed. If we cannot fix the unit, we will let you know and there will be no charge except return shipping. If we fix the unit, we warranty all of our repairs for ONE YEAR.

How do you accept payment?
We accept payment by phone using Mastercard or Visa.  We accept COD but there will be an additional $30.00 charge.  After the repairs have been made and the unit is ready to ship, we will call the customer for payment and provide a tracking number if requested.

How should I pack my speedometer instrument?
Use a sturdy cardboard box slightly larger than the unit.  Avoid shallow or flimsy boxed.  Place the unit in a plastic bag to keep any packaging material from getting inside the unit. If possible try to double box the unit for extra protection.  Preferred packing materials are: Bubble wrap, packing chips or crushed up plastic grocery bags.  Remember that the most sensitive parts of any speedometer are the needle, the shaft in the center of the face plate and (if applicable) the circuit board.

If you decide to send the speedometer unit by itself, we
strongly suggest that you tape a small plastic bowl over the face or a band of cardboard around the unit.  Please do not permit packing materials to press against the face plate.

Which Carrier is best to use to ship my speedometer?
Actually we receive deliveries daily from most all of the major shippers (U.S. Postal Service, UPS, Airborne, FedEX, DHL). So select the one that is most convenient for you!

Can you roll back my odometer if I had a new engine put in my car?
By law and specified by the Department of Motor Vehicles, we absolutely cannot, under any circumstance, set the miles back on any odometer.

If I am in the local area, do I need to set up an appointment to get my car looked at?
Yes. Let us know when you would like to be seen so that we can check if we have that time is available.  A lot of work is done mobile for dealers or repair shops.
